19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial championship following the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

The win also means he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on court had led observers to question if his ability to play at the elite level was over.

But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an improved service.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

The opponent defended 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
